Project Manager

Responsibilities:
We are
seeking a Project Manager to join our successful and fast-paced organization.
This position will report to our VP & Chief Operating Officer. Job duties
are varied and the ability to multi-task and adjust priorities is a must. The
Project Manager will assist with the following tasks (tasks may include, but are
not limited to the following):

Responsibility for developing mining operations, transport and dispatch of coal,
quality management, safety management and implementation of best practices from
a greenfields stage to production.

Development of the business through acquisition of coal assets in the form of
surface and or mineral rights.
·
Manage the Billings office from conception which includes creditors and
payments, cash flow forecasts and preparation of cash calls.
·
Development of the business through acquisition
·
Project management from conceptualization, feasibility study to completion.
·
Select and manage staff for project as needed
·
Create and enhance capability for implementing world class mining practices
·
Establishes controls on project planning, IT, budgets, cash flows, and schedules
and routinely monitors them. Initiates action for all deviations and reports
monthly on complete contract status including cost projections.

Responsible for resolving
subcontractor, interdepartmental, and client related problems and issues.
·
Environment management, government liaison and administrative networking.
·
Understanding of the market dynamics related to coal business
·
Responsible for synergizing and consolidating the project activities to be
undertaken at multi-locations.
·
Monitor daily operations and measure and analyze the efficiencies of facility
operations and projects.
·
Plan overall construction schedule and schedule development, schedule needed
material, tools, equipment, safety accessories, subcontractors and field
personnel relative to the specific construction phase
·
Provide strong leadership and guidance to field staff.
Qualifications:
·
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or similar discipline.
·
Minimum of 10 years experience in Mining & Metals or other heavy industry
experience. PMP Certification is required.
·
Extensive knowledge of management and work practices relevant to mechanized
mining.
·
Proven successful project history (Quality, Schedule, Safety, Actual Cost vs.
Estimated Cost)

Thorough knowledge of contract documents (project plans and specifications),
materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems/computer software,
productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures
·
Ability to use quantitative analysis and financial tools to justify investment
decisions
·
Ability to build networks, work from outside in and connect with key
stakeholders within the organization and lease holders and suppliers outside of
the organization.
·
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and attention to detail.
·
Ability to work effectively both as a member of a team and independently, and
with minimum supervision.
